Betty R. Sandlin, age 78, of Hamilton, died February 6, 2013 at Berkeley Square Health Care. She was born in Tishomingo, Oklahoma the daughter of Douglas and Lillie (Lindsey) Ashlock. Betty and Bill met at Amarillo Air Force Base where she was a secretary and they were married on May 17, 1957 in Amarillo, Texas. Upon returning to Hamilton she was employed by the Social Security Administration, retiring in 1991. She was a member of West Side Church of Christ, taught Sunday School, active in Bible Studies and very active in the Bread Ministry. She is survived by her husband, Bill; son, Douglas W. Sandlin both of Hamilton; a brother, Jake Ashlock and wife Kathy of Amarillo, Texas and many loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; five brothers, Haskell, Earl, Coy, Lynne and Kenneth Ashlock; two sisters, Geneva Hall and Genice Sanchez. Funeral service will be Friday, February 8, 2013 at 2 p.m. at Weigel Funeral Home, 980 NW Washington Blvd., Hamilton, OH 45013 with Dan Kinsley, Minister, officiating. Entombment will be at Rose Hill Burial Park Mausoleum. Visitation will be Friday from 1 p.m. until time of service at the funeral home. The family wishes to give a special thank you to the staff at the Berkeley Square Special Care Unit.
