Age 92, of Fairfield Township, died at 7:05 p.m. Saturday, January 9, 2010 in Hospice of Hamilton. He was born January 21, 1917 in Hamilton the son of George L., Sr. and Wihelmina A. (Downie) Eyler. He was a 1936 graduate of Hamilton High School where he played “Big Blue” football and a graduate of the University of Cincinnati. He was a WWII veteran of the U. S. Army serving under General Patton. He married Helen Henry on September 29, 1945 in Hamilton and she preceded him in death on May 18, 1981. He had been employed as a field representative for Landmark Farm Bureau for twelve years, retiring in 1982. He was a member of The Presbyterian Church, where he had served as an elder and deacon and he was devoted to his family. He is survived by his daughter, Charlene Busby and husband, John of West Chester; his son, Greg Eyler of Fairfield Township; three grandchildren, Brian Busby and wife, Heather, Amy Winkle and husband, Jeff and Bradley Busby and wife, Elizabeth; four great grandchildren Austin Busby, Zach Busby, Jessica Winkle and Justin Winkle and a fifth great grandchild due in March. He is also survived by a special friend, Julia Peters. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, a brother, George L Eyler, Jr. and a sister, Mary K. Foote. A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 16, 2010 at 11 a. m. at The Presbyterian Church with Dr. John H. H. Lewis officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
