Carl L. Dees, age 88, of Hamilton died Friday, January 29, 2010 at 7:05 p.m. He was born in Hamilton on January 27, 1922 the son of George and Susie (Sizemore) Dees. He was a veteran of the U. S. Marine Corps serving in the South Pacific. He married Gwendola Smith on May 22, 1943 in Hamilton. He had been employed as a building inspector for the State of Ohio for 25 years, retiring in 1982. He was a member and past Deacon of West Side Church of Christ. He is a member and past Master of Hugh L. Bates Lodge #686, F&AM, former Secretary and Tyler of the lodge and past Temple Board member. He is also a member of the Scottish Rite, Valley of Cincinnati. He is survived by his wife Gwendola; one son, Bradley Dees and wife Catherine; three daughters, Sandra Snider, Deborah Brady and husband Mike, and Carla Wilson and husband David all of Hamilton; thirteen grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers, Walter, Homer, Clarence and Conner Dees. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 2, 2010 at 10 a.m. at Weigel Funeral Home, 980 N. W. Washington Blvd. with Dan Knisley, Minister officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Mausoleum. Visitation will be Monday evening from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Masonic services will be held at 6:30 p.m. followed by Scottish Rite services. The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to the staffs of Berkeley Square, Vitas Hospice and Golden Years for their loving care.
