Russell C. Laming, and Betty B. Laming, Both 90, of Hamilton, died July 4, 2010. Russell, son of August George and Clara (Hursch) Laming, was born March 23, 1920 in Cincinnati, Oh. Betty, daughter of Arlington W. and Edna E. (Schoneberger) Buckley, was born February 10, 1920 in Cincinnati, Oh. Russell and Betty both graduated from Norwood High School in 1938. Russell served in the US Army Air Corp from 1942-1945 during WWII as a Staff Sergeant serving in the Pacific Theater as a member of the Thirsty 13th Unit. The couple were married on August 10, 1945 in Norwood, OH. In 1948, they moved to Hamilton, where Russell opened the business of Laming and Tallen Plumbing Company. Betty was employed by Hamilton City Employees Credit Union for 27 years retiring in April of 1987. They were both members of The Presbyterian Church. Betty loved to sew, knit and other crafts. A 32nd Degree Mason and member of the Hamilton Elks, Russell also was an avid golfer. The couple loved to dance and were members of the Hamilton Cotillion Club. They are survived by their children: Thomas F. Laming and wife Debby of Hamilton, Michael S. Laming and wife Janet of Richmond, VA and Sherry Williams and husband Ron of North Little Rock, AR; Russell’s brother, Roger W. Laming of St. Clairsville, OH; Betty’s sister, Jane Cohan of Nashville, TN; her sister-in-law, Darlene Clay of Palm Coast, FL; grandchildren, Gillian and Stephen Laming, Jonathan Williams, Rhonda Byrd, Amanda Williams, John and Jeremy Puckett, Toy Hobbs and Tara Davenport and six great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. They were preceded in death by their parents and Betty’s brother Jack W. Buckley. Funeral service will be Saturday, July 10, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Weigel Funeral Home, 980 NW Washington Blvd., Hamilton, with Dr. H. H. Lewis officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Saturday, July 10 from Noon until time of service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to Westover Employee Fund, Colonial Foundation, 520 Eaton Avenue, Hamilton, OH 45013.
