Albertha Ileen McMillian

Albertha Ileen McMILLIAN, Age 84, of Hamilton, died Tuesday, September 5, 2006 at 2:30 a.m. in Garden Manor Nursing Home. She was born in Butler County on December 3, 1921 the daughter of Harry and Anna (Popp) Meyers. She married Paul Robert "Bob" McMillian on April 4, 1942 in Union City, Indiana and he preceded her in death on April 28, 1993. She was a graduate of Stewart High School, Oxford and a member of Grace United Methodist Church. She had been a resident hall manager at Miami University, Oxford for ten years, retiring in August 1985. She was raised on a farm in Reily. She and her husband, were dairy farmers in the Somerville area for many years and were very well respected within the community. She dearly loved her family. She was known for her cherry and apple pies, fried chicken and being an outstanding seamstress. She is survived by her daughter, Betty J. Dailey and husband, James; two sons, Russell McMillian and wife, Virginia and Roger McMillian all of Hamilton; two sisters, Mary Ann Johnson and husband, Chris of Fairfield and Christina Lehman of Hamilton; three sisters-in-law, Louise Meyers, Dorothy Meyers, and Luella Diceglie; eight grandchildren, Danny (Kim) Dailey, Melanie (David) Kerry, Rebecca (Kenneth) Chasteen, Tim McMillian, Karen McMillian, Melissa (Mark) Baker, Michael McMillian and Matt (Julia) McMillian; 13 great grandchildren and dear friends, Lynda Pennington and Trudy Larkin. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, five brothers, Calvin, Dale, Floyd, George and Harry, Jr. Meyers and two sisters, Helen Ertel and Wilma Meyers. Funeral services will be held Friday, September 8, 2006 at 2 p.m. at Grace United Methodist Church, 1200 Main Street with Dr. Robert Ingram officiating. Burial will be in Millville Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday evening from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the church. The family wishes to extend a very special thank you to the staff at Garden Manor for their loving care.
