Callie Rae Wells

Callie Rae Wells, of Columbus, Ohio, unexpectedly passed away Friday, September 1, 2023. She was born November 25, 1986 to Richard and Beverly Wells. Callie is survived by her parents, her brother Corey Wells and his wife, Shelby, one very special nephew, Beau Wells, and many aunts & uncles, cousins and close friends that she cherished. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Ray & Callie Allen and Jim & Mary Wells as well as her dearly loved pet, Millie. Callie attended Edgewood High School and graduated in 2005. She received a bachelors degree and a master’s degree from The Ohio State University. She was passionate about her career as Director of Marketing and Communication at OASBO-Ohio Association of School Business Officials in Columbus, Ohio. Her colleagues there were much more than that, they were family to her. This is a quote from Katie Johnson who was Callie’s “boss” but she was so much more than that to Callie - “Callie was a very special person with the kindest soul. She was wise beyond her years. She was a calming force with high expectations for herself and others and worked tirelessly to move things forward, to be better. She made me want to be a better person. She has that gift – making people and things better”. She enjoyed volunteering at Highland Youth Garden in Columbus, Ohio and she had a special love for her family, friends, colleagues, animals, anything related to agriculture, The Ohio State University, 4H and FFA. And yes, Callie was a swiftie and if you asked her, she would say from day one. Callie was a very special and a one-of-a-kind person who will be greatly missed. Services will be at Weigel Funeral Home, 980 N.W. Washington Blvd., Hamilton, Ohio on Saturday, September 9, 2023 at 2:00 pm with Pastor Jon Young officiating. The family will receive friends from 12 noon until the service time at 2:00 pm. Graveside services will immediately follow at the Darrtown Cemetery, 3271-3325 Shollenbarger Rd., Darrtown, Ohio. A dinner will be provided at the Richmond Road Baptist Church after the graveside burial.
