Evelyn "Jo" Jones

Evelyn “Jo” Jones was a woman of faith, strength, and vitality. Her tenacious spirit was shown throughout her life even to her very last breath on this earth. Jo came into this world on September 27, 1942, and left it holding the hand of Jesus on August 15, 2023. She was born to Edward and Elizabeth (Grau) Kirschmann. She grew up in a foster home for several years with Robert and Grace Ison and their family. She married Kenneth Bramkamp and they had five children together. Jo stayed at home taking care of the kids during their younger years. She spent time with them putting up canvas tents in the backyard, picking berries to make jelly, and taking walks with wagons and strollers to the local grocery store. Her love and sacrifice for her kids was above reproach. As the kids got older, Jo began working at Busken Bakery and then went to work in the deli/bakery at Kroger in Fairfield, Ohio. She also worked at GNC and was a school crossing guard in later years. At some point in time, Jo began attending church with her neighbors. She gave her life to Christ and was baptized. Through the years, her faith grew stronger. She met Harry Jones, and Jo learned a new appreciation of love. They were married at and attended the Millville Avenue Nazarene Church. Jo enjoyed teaching Sunday School, serving meals on Wednesday nights, serving at the Clothes Closet and helping with Vacation Bible School. Her love for the Lord was evident in the way she lived her life. Whether she was in a restaurant, doctor’s office, or hospital, she would share her faith with others. Her gracious words and prayers blessed many people. In 2021, Jo began attending church at Eaton Road Church of God. Even through declining health issues, she enjoyed Sunday services in person and online, attended Bible Study, and helped with Vacation Bible School. After being placed into the care of Hospice, she still helped cut out papers for VBS and sorted and donated material to make each child a “Belt of Truth”. Jo lived a life full of love and purpose. She will be missed on this earth, but she is no longer struggling with an earthly tent that was wearing out on her. For Jo, there is no more sickness and no more pain as she breathes in the freshness of Heaven. Jo was preceded in death by her first husband, Kenneth Bramkamp, second husband, Harry Jones, her firstborn son, Eric Bramkamp and several siblings. She is survived by her sister, Marge (Jerry) Krieger, her children, Bruce Bramkamp, Theresa (Rick) Bennett, Christina (John) Cooling, Angela Bramkamp, her grandchildren, Kian Bramkamp, Shamone (Brett) Perkinson, Samantha Cooling, Jessica (Josh) Kidder, Zachariah Bramkamp, Jared Cooling, Michaela Bramkamp, Isaiah Bramkamp, and her great grandchildren, Bryson and Ember Perkinson. Visitation will be Monday August 21, 2023 at Weigel Funeral Home, 980 N.W. Washington Blvd, Hamilton, Ohio 45013 from 2:30 p.m. until the Celebration of Life Service at 4:30 p.m. The family asks that instead of flower contributions that monetary donations be made to Hospice of Cincinnati or Eaton Road Church of God.
