Janet Louise Grevey Hufschmitt

Janet Louise Grevey Hufschmitt "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest." Matthew 11:28 (NIV) Age 83, of Hamilton, Ohio, passed away on June 19, 2012 at Berkeley Square. She was born on March 13, 1929, the daughter of Clyde and Elsa Grevey. She graduated from Hamilton High School in 1947 and attended Miami University where she was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma. She was formerly married to Frederick William Green II. In 1976 she married Dr. Joseph R. Hufschmitt and after 26 happy years together he preceded her in death on July 28, 2003. Janet was devoted to caring for her family, friends, home and garden and enjoyed many hobbies. She excelled at playing bridge, sewing, cooking, needlepoint, golf, pastels and piano. Mrs. Hufschmitt was also active in The Hamilton Garden Club, The Hamilton Junior Women’s League and Auxiliary, Trouvere’s, The Woman’s Club and the Westover Service Guild. She leaves her children, Frederick William Green III and his wife, Elaine of Bradenton, Florida; Susan Rhodes Green Stephenson and her husband, Tom and grandchildren Sarah Louise Stephenson and Margaret Rhodes Stephenson, all of Hamilton. She also leaves her stepchildren, Judith Bennett (Alan) of Jasper, Indiana; Jeanne Gowen (Chuck) of Dekalb, Illinois; Joseph Hufschmitt (Jodi) of Columbus, Ohio and five step grandchildren: Kathryne Bennett, Abigail Bennett Truesdale, Peter Gowen, Christine Gowen Krupa, Justin Tunmore and 3 step great- grandchildren. Janet was preceded in death by both of her sisters: Dody (Tommy) Rentschler and Marian (Tom) Thompson. The family is especially grateful to the caring and compassionate staff of the Berkeley Special Care Wing and VITAS during Janet’s final months. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Monday, June 25, 2012 at Weigel Funeral Home, 980 N.W. Washington Blvd., Hamilton, Ohio with Dr. John Lewis officiating. Visitation will be Monday from 9:30 AM until time of service. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Animal Friends Humane Society, 1820 Princeton Rd. Hamilton, Ohio 45011 or The Colonial Foundation/Employee Activities Fund, 520 Eaton Ave. Hamilton, Ohio 45013 would be greatly appreciated.
