Kathleen Thiemann Hoffmann

Kathleen Hoffmann, age 78, of Hanover Township, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family, after a very short illness, on Tuesday, June 1, 2010 at 9:25 p.m. She was born in Hamilton on July 23, 1931, the daughter of Edward and Myrtle (Wagonfield) Thiemann. Kathleen was a graduate of Hanover School in 1949 and obtained her realtor’s license from Miami University. On St. Patrick’s Day, 1951, she married the love of her life, Charles “Corky” Hoffmann in Hamilton at St. Mary’s Church. Kathleen was a loving fulltime mother and housewife and then later employed by Estep/College Real Estate. Just recently, she trained with McCullough-Hyde Memorial Hospital and became a volunteer at the Ross Urgent Care Center which brought her great joy and a renewed sense of purpose. A deep faith in God was central to her life and she was a member of Queen of Peace Catholic Church. Kathleen loved the beach, her beautiful yard and the house her husband Corky built for her, walking her dog Tigger at Hanover Park, fishing, laughing, and having family gatherings. She is survived by her four children Patricia Alcorn, Susan Massey and husband Mark, and Nancy Hoffmann all of Hamilton; her son Charles (Chuck) Hoffmann II and wife Bonnie Allyn of New London, North Carolina; eight very special grandchildren, Dino Alcorn and wife Danielle, David Alcorn and wife Karly, Amber Massey, Bryan Massey, Trevor Massey, Tessa Massey, Brittany Allyn, and Brooke Allyn; five great-grandchildren Stephan Burress, Alec Alcorn, Hailey Alcorn, David Alcorn, and Kiley Massey; a brother-in-law Gene Hulshult , Alberta “Tootie” Wells (sister-in-law) and JoAnn “Josie” Roark (sister-in-law), all of Hamilton. She also leaves behind her very special dog Tigger and his brother Zeke. She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles “Corky” Hoffmann, her parents, Edward Thiemann (brother) and Dolores Maxwell (sister) and many other friends and family. Prayers will be held Tuesday, June 8, 2010, at 9:15 a.m. at the Weigel Funeral Home, 980 N.W. Washington Blvd. to be followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 2550 Millville Ave. with Father Michael Hay officiating. Entombment will be in St. Stephen Mausoleum. Visitation will be Monday evening, June 7th from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Weigel Funeral Home. The family would like to thank Hospice of Cincinnati, especially for the compassionate care of Denise Schindler, and her physician Dr. Krall; Gail and Violet for sharing a lifetime of love and laughter with her, and all her extended family, friends, and neighbors for their support and prayers.
