Louis E. Wynn

Louis E. Wynn, age 80, of Hamilton, died Saturday, February 28, 2009 at Fort Hamilton Hospital. He was born in Hamilton on December 9, 1928, the son of Marvin A. and Helen (Farmer) Wynn. Lou served in the U.S. Army for one year entering the service in 1945. He was a graduate of the University of Cincinnati in 1950. On December 30, 1950, he married Karlyn Mueller in Hamilton. She preceded him in death in 1970. On November 25, 1971, he married Ann Arthur Chable in Hamilton. He received his law degree from Salmon B. Chase Law School in 1955. Lou was an attorney for 48 years in Hamilton ending his career as an attorney of counsel with Millikin and Fitton in 2003. He was a past member of Zion Lutheran Church, and for over twenty years a member of the church council. He held memberships in the Butler County and Ohio Bar Associations. He was a lifetime member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity and a founding member of the New London Hills Swim Club. Lou was a former board member of the Hamilton Kiwanis Club, the Hamilton Senior Citizens, and a life member of the Hamilton Elks. He was past chairman of the Hamilton Board of Zoning Appeals and a member of the board for over twenty years. Lou was a very kind man who had a smile for all he came in contact with. He was very well thought of amongst his peers, clients, and friends. He was a great father who could be counted on to come through with a calm response to his children’s problems and “disasters” while growing up. After Heart surgery that required him to stop practicing law in 2003, Lou took great joy in having more time to spend with his children and grandchildren. He was very involved in the day to day raising of his children’s children and you could see in his face that he enjoyed life the most when all of his family was around. A great surprise to his wife and children, Lou became an excellent cook, baker, and candy maker in his later years. His fudge, jams, jellies and daily breakfast became a favorite to all of us. Lou will live in many hearts forever. He is survived by his wife, Ann; six children, Jennifer (Kevin) Conrad, Hamilton, Scott (Teresa) Chable, Summerville, S. C.; Linda Depew, Hamilton, Cynthia (John) Schroeder, Hamilton; David (Rose) Chable, Centerville and Allison (Jon) Whalen, Hamilton; his bother, James (Gloria) Wynn, Louisville, KY; 13 grandchildren; Alex Gonzalez, Nick Sopiwnik, Christopher and Amy Wynn, Scotty and Faith Chable, Evan Depew, John (Charissa) Theobald, Tori Schroeder, Samantha and Shannon Chable, and Jack and Anne Whalen; and three great grandchildren, Kyle Gonzalez, Alexis and Abigail Theobald. Memorial Services will be held Tuesday, March 3, 2009, at 7 p.m. at Weigel Funeral Home, 980 N. W. Washington Blvd., Hamilton, with Rev. Stan Dunk officiating. Friends may call from 5 p.m. until time of services Tuesday at the funeral home.
