Ralph O. Jones

Ralph O. Jones, affectionately known as “Pat”, was born in a log cabin in Morgan Township, Okeana, Ohio on June 8, 1918. He departed his earthly home and went to his heavenly home on January 7, 2013. Pat was a very gentle, kind and loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and great grandfather. He loved to dance to the “Big Band Music” and he met his future wife at the “Y” dances. Pat and Dorothy L. Fried were married on September 22, 1945 in Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, by the late Reverend Karl A. Mueller. They were blessed with 67 years of marriage. Pat joined the church after the marriage and was active in the church serving on church council and as a “faithful usher” for many years. In earlier years Pat worked for farmers in the area and later farmed with his Dad. He worked for Fisher Body (GMC) as a press operator retiring in “1980” after 30 ½ years of service. He was a lover of nature and the woods, enjoying hunting with his “boys”. They had many happy times hunting deer and turkey. Dorothy and Pat were blessed with four sons. Survivors include: wife; Dorothy L. Jones; brother, Harry C. Jones and sons; Paul R. Jones (Diane) of Bath, IN , Thomas K. Jones of Camden, OH, Todd F. Jones (Beverly) of Vevay, IN and Timothy S. Jones of Vienna, OH; grandchildren, Kimberly D. Cooper (Scott), Christina R. Clark (Jason), Lisa M. Jackson (Jeremy), Julie L. Eori (Sean), Timothy S. Jones Jr. (Kayla) and Erica N. Jones (Nick); Step grandchildren, Joe Kaylor (Rachel) and Belinda Contreras (Wally); Great grandchildren, Olivia Cooper, Aaron Jackson, Ryan Jackson, Liberty Jackson, Tyler Clark, Lucas Clark and Isabella Jones; Step great grandchildren, Emily, Hannah, Ashley and Allison Kaylor, Ilaria, Christian and Brennan Contreras. Pat was preceded in death by his parents Howard F. and Bertha Jones; his brother, John H. Jones; sisters, Alice Blasko, Helen B. Jones and Lillian Schreiner and a beloved daughter-in-law, Linda S. Jones. Funeral services will be at Weigel Funeral Home, 980 NW Washington Blvd., Hamilton, Ohio 45013 on Friday, January 11, 2013 at 11 a.m. with Pastor David Miller officiating. Burial will be at Rose Hill Burial Park. Visitation will be on Friday from 10 a.m. until time of service. If so desired, memorials may be given to Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church “Radio Ministry”, 212 S. Front Street, Hamilton, OH 45011 or to Hospice of Southwest Ohio, 7625 Camargo Road, Cincinnati, OH 45243.
