Robert K. Dixon

Robert “Bob” Keith Dixon, 72, passed away at home surrounded by family September 8, 2022 after a brief but difficult battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Debbie (Goebel); children Philip Dixon, Brian (Missy) Dixon, Katie Dixon, and Daniel (Kerstin) Dixon; grandchildren Bella, Zack, Nate, Raelan, Holden, Tanner, and Lenox; sister Melody Brubaker; and his beloved pet pug, Libby. He is preceded in death by his parents Burt and Marilyn, and brother Doug. Bob grew up in Hamilton, Ohio and after graduating from Taft High School, he proudly served in the United States Navy. The friendships he made with his fellow shipmates during his time in the Navy have endured the years, and many of those men he served alongside remain among his closest friends. After serving in the Navy, Bob worked for the Hamilton City Police Department as a police officer before going on to work for Champion Paper for 27 years, which was also where he met his wife, Debbie. Bob had a passion and natural talent for carpentry. His talent, craftsmanship, and “cut no corners” (ask Rodney!) attitude led him to help many friends and family members over the years, working on their homes or creating beautiful pieces from scratch for them using his woodworking skills. He fielded many calls over the years from his children on how to fix things, and was always there to assist in helping them to fix a problem. In his retirement, he started a painting business, and worked right up until the day of his diagnosis two months ago. Bob loved music deeply - the Eagles and Fleetwood Mac were among his favorites. He was a history buff, enjoyed almost any genre of movie, loved playing golf, traveling with his family, and (much to his wife’s dismay) playing games on his phone. Bob was as solid as they come - reliable, hardworking, stubborn, and his morals and values were among the best. He loved his family, and life will never be the same without him. A memorial service honoring Bob will take place on Saturday, September 17th at Weigel Funeral Home, located at 980 NW Washington Blvd., Hamilton, OH 45013. Visitation begins at 10am, with the military honors and memorial service taking place at 11am. The family is hosting a luncheon immediately following for all who would like to attend at Bethel Community Church, located at 2015 NW Washington Blvd, Hamilton, Ohio 45013.
