Betzy Kuhn Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Betzy Kuhn, age 79 of Poinciana, FL, passed away on September 7, 2018. She was born December 14, 1938 in Hamilton, Ohio, the daughter of Howard and Katrina (Betz) Schul. She was a graduate of Fairfield High School and Miami University with a degree in Elementary Education. She spent 35 years teaching and enriching childrens’ lives in the Winton Forest School District and Immanuel Lutheran School’s Kindergarten classes. She was an accomplished pianist, and music was an important part of her life. After retiring in 2002, she moved to Sullivan, MO, and enjoyed making new friends and traveling with her family. She kept the travels alive by creating beautiful photo albums of their adventures. In February 2018, Betzy and her daughter moved to Poinciana with a home close to Disney World, a favorite place to visit. It was also near the beaches where she enjoyed turtle watching. Betzy was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Hamilton and Peace Lutheran Church in Missouri. She was also a member of the P.E.O. Sisterhood Chapter NA of Washington, Missouri. She leaves behind her daughter Krista Kuhn, her son Kirk Kuhn (Denise) of Groveland, FL, a sister Jody Schuning (Ken) of Fairfield Glade, TN, plus many nieces and nephews. Her kind and caring ways encouraged many others to call her Aunt Betzy, too. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Paul E. Kuhn, Jr. A memorial service will be held at the Rose Hill Mausoleum at Rose Hill Burial Park, 2421 Princeton Rd., Fairfield Township, Ohio on Saturday, October 27, 2018. Visitation begins at 9:00AM and the Service is at 10:30AM with Rev. Zachary Sturm officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Betzy’s name to the Fairfield Community Foundation, 5350 Pleasant Avenue, Fairfield, OH 45014 for “The Howard and Katrina Schul Fine Arts Scholarship”.
