Elizabeth "Betty" Frieda Lampl

Elizabeth "Betty" Frieda Lampl Age 99, passed away on Tuesday, May 3, 2016 at Heartland of Woodridge, to joyfully join her husband, Alfred. She was born in Chicago, Illinois on July 9, 1916, the daughter of Frank and Susanna (Strorigel) Heckenast. She married Alfred Lampl in Chicago on May 24, 1941 and he preceded her in death on December 1, 2001. Her life’s work was the family she created with her loving husband, Alfred and the home she filled with happiness and affection for her children and husband. Her greatest joy was having grandchildren, spending time with them and watching them grow up. She was so very proud of each of them. She enjoyed flower gardening, cooking and baking. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday School and vacation Bible School for many years. She was a devoted wife for sixty years. She is survived by her son, John (Sandy) Lampl, Fairfield; her daughter, Susan (Mark) Snider, Oxford; two sisters, Marie Heckenast and Mildred Heckenast both of Chicago; grandchildren, Kristy (Dave) Orr, Jenny (Don McEachern) Lampl, Erik Snider and Amy (Bill) Nott; and great grandchildren, Caden and Addy Orr, Ethan Nott and Savannah and Trip McEachern. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, four brothers, Frank, Chuck, Alfred, and Walter Heckenast and her sister, Lillian Ebner. The family wishes to thank all the wonderful caregivers, especially the staff, at Heartland Assisted Living, for all the wonderful care they gave Elizabeth. Also, thank you to Heartland Hospice, to all the family, clergy and friends who took the time to visit Elizabeth and help make her days a bit brighter, visits meant so much and will not be forgotten. Funeral services will be held Friday, May 6 at 11:00 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 1285 Main Street with Pastor Kevin Jud officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the church.
