Margaret Louise Puckett

Margaret Louise Puckett Beloved mother, “Grandma,” “G.G.,” sister, aunt, teacher, and friend. Born Sept. 18, 1923, to Harold and Lucile in Columbus, Ohio. Valedictorian of Worthington High School Class of 1941. After graduating from Capital University, began her teaching career in Morgan Township and retired from Hamilton City Schools in 1980 after 27 years in education. Married John R. Puckett Feb. 5, 1949, at Clinton Heights Lutheran Church in Columbus where she had been baptized and confirmed in the Christian faith. Past member of Zion Lutheran, First United Methodist, and currently attended Ross Community UMC. Former member of Delta Kappa Gamma, past president of FHH auxiliary, and member of the CEC and Butler County Retired Teachers Association. Enjoyed traveling, volunteering, and bridge club. But most of all cherished grandmothering in her retirement Preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband, brother Hal, nephew Dwight, “Mom and Pop” Puckett, and many treasured in-laws. Departed this life Sunday, March 22, 2009. Survived by her grateful children David of Fairfield, Barbara (Butch) Campbell of Dayton, and Nancy (Harriet Itkoff) of Hamilton. Adored grandchildren Andy (Michelle), Tim (Amber), and Kate Campbell, John and Jeremy Puckett, and Paul Loehle. Most recent joys, her great-grandchildren Sam, Olivia, and Jacob Campbell. Sister Alice of Wisconsin, brother Jim (Nancy) of Tennessee, and sister-in-law Donna of Columbus. Brother-in-law Bill and sisters-in-law Carol and Ginny. And many special nieces and nephews. Our heartfelt thanks to all of her health care family, especially the devoted staff of Fresenius Medical on Mcbride Ct. A service in celebration of Margaret’s life will be held at Ross Community United Methodist Church, 2943 Hamilton-Cleves Rd., Thursday, March 26, 2009, at 2:00 PM. The family will gather an hour prior to and following the service to share memories. In lieu of flowers, her children request donations be made in her memory to the Open Door Food Pantry, 800 S. Front St., Hamilton, Ohio 45011.
