Naudine M. Belew

Naudine M. Belew, age 83, passed away at 9:17 p.m. on Tuesday, April 7, 2009, at Westover Retirement Community, her home for the past five years. Born in Miami, Florida on January 11, 1926, Naudine was the daughter of Lewis Robert Mills and Margaret Haun Mills. She was a 1943 graduate of Hodgenville High School and attended Berea College in Berea, Kentucky. On June 6, 1945 in LaGrange, Kentucky she married Bobby W. Belew and they were devoted partners for 54 years until his death on August 13, 1999. Naudine was employed as a clerk stenographer for the City of Hamilton Income Tax office for 22 years retiring in 1986. She was a member of The First Baptist Church of Hamilton, The City of Hamilton Old Timer's Club and a Life member of Delta Theta Chi Sorority. A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, Naudine loved her family and never tired of watching "her boys" - and there were many - play ball. Prior to her declining health she was happiest working in her flower beds or baking goodies in her kitchen. Naudine is survived by her three children; Nancy B. Follmer and Joseph P. Belew (Susan) of Hamilton and Robert D. Belew (Susie) of Nashville, Tennessee; grandchildren Jennifer (Ryan) Ervin and Robyn C. Belew (fiance, Daniel Burns) of Nashville, Tennessee, Sarah V. Belew, Chicago, Illinois and Tyler S. Belew, Hamilton, all of whom she was most proud. She is also survived by a brother, Bobby A. Mills (Michelene), Noblesville, Indiana, brother-in-law David L. Belew (Margery), Hamilton, and sister-in-law Barbara K. Belew, Minneapolis, Minnesota; nine nieces and nephews and numerous other relatives and friends. Naudine was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Bob and son-in-law, Jon F. Follmer. Funeral services will be held at the Weigel Funeral Home, 980 NW Washington Blvd. on Saturday, April 11, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. with Dr. Dennis Metzger, Reverand William Brantingham and Jack Young officiating. Visitation will be Saturday from 12:30 p.m. until time of service at 2:00p.m. Burial will be in Rose Hill Burial Park. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude and appreciation to the entire Westover staff for their care, love, support and concern. Thanks and appreciation also go to the Vitas Hospice nurses and caregivers and to Dr. Shanthi Rajaratnam, Dr. Gregory Parker and Dr. Richard Sternberg for their compassion and their care.
